"Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ" St. Jerome
Bible study is the best way to grow in understanding of God - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Here are the current offerings for Bible Study at St. Francis.
Bible in a Year
In the Bible in a Year podcast, starting January 1st, 2021, Fr. Mike Schmitz walks you through the entire Bible in 365 episodes, providing commentary, reflection, and prayer along the way.
Unlike any other Bible podcast, Ascension’s Bible in a Year Podcast follows a reading plan inspired by The Great Adventure Bible Timeline, a ground-breaking approach to understanding salvation history developed by renowned Catholic Bible teacher Jeff Cavins. If you haven’t already begun to listen to the podcasts, it’s not too late. Go to AscensionPress.com/bibleinayear for free sign up. You can also join the small group to discuss what you’re learning. Meetings are on Mondays at 11:30 in Room 5 and online. Each group member shares one thing from the week that struck them and discussion moves forward from there. Contact Colleen Orchanian to register. There is no cost
associated with this group. Make 2021 the Year of the Bible!
Catechism in a Year
Have you ever thought about reading the Catechism of the Catholic Church? Have you wanted to better learn your faith so that you can share it with others? Using the book, A Year with the Catechism and the Catechism of the Catholic Church, we will read through the entire catechism in one year. A small group facilitated by Bob Koschler will meet on Wednesdays at 1:30 (both live and online) to share and discuss what they are reading. Meetings begin on Wednesday, January 13. Join with others in the parish with the same goal, keeping each other accountable and encouraging each other to persevere through the year. Contact Colleen Orchanian to register. There is no cost for this group.
